WellMed Charitable Foundation of San Antonio
The WellMed Charitable Foundation was established in 2006 by Dr. George Rapier III, a noted geriatrician who is also the Chairman of the Board. The Foundation is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization that supports seniors and their caregivers in our community with a special emphasis on wellness, prevention, and living with chronic illness. Leeza's Place by WellMed are free community resource centers for caregivers and their loved ones in a homelike setting. Through programs designed to provide education, empowerment, and energy, Leeza's Place offers unique tools that help caregivers deal with the daily challenges of their caregiving role.

SASSL, dba "San Antonio Seniors Softball League"
SASSL, dba "The San Antonio Senior Softball League" is a non-profit Corporation charted under the State of Texas to "promote the physical and mental fitness of senior citizens through participation in senior sports and specifically senior softball. SASSL conducts year round softball leagues for men 50+ in age. The motto of the organization is "no player left behind". Regardless of proficiency it attempts to place interested male senior citizens 50+ on a senior softball team so they can get the benefits of physical and mental fitness achieved through participation in sports. More talented players compete in the San Antonio Senior Games, Texas State Senior Games, the National Senior Games (NSGA), the Softball Players Association (SPA) and Senior Softball USA (SSUSA) tournaments.

The Bexar Area Agency on Aging (BAAA) is part of the Alamo Area Council of Governments It is one of 28 Area
Agencies on Aging in the State of Texas. BAAA plans, coordinates, and administers comprehensive services
authorized by the Older Americans Act and the Texas Department of Aging for Bexar County seniors. Seniors
who are over 60 years of age, caregivers of individuals age 60 and over and Medicare beneficiaries of any

Ombudsman Program in Bexar County
The Ombudsman program uses specially trained and certified individuals (Ombudsman) to provide advocacy
services to residents of long-term care facilities. They also provide information to residents, staff, and
family members about residents' rights, nursing facility requirements, and helps identify resources in or

The Movers & Shakers - A San Antonio Support Group for ET
Do you have trouble with the "Shakes" when drinking, eating, writing or speaking? There's help
available for Essential Tremor or ET. There is a local San Antonio support group, "The Movers &
Shakers", that meets frequently. The group is the first such support group in Texas. Additional
