The Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging (ACAAA) offers programs and services for older adults ranging from the more independent to those who are frail and require assistance to remain at home. By calling the SeniorLine 412-350-5460, you can reach professional care managers who can assist with information and referral on ACAAA services and community programs. Those older adult consumers in Allegheny County who are hearing impaired and have use of a TDD/TTY machine may contact the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging at 412-350-2727.
Information and Referral Coordinators are also available at Senior Community Center focal points located throughout Allegheny County. These supporting agencies are also available to walk-in consumers. A listing of the ACAAA partner agencies can be found on the Area Agency on Aging web site.

- Caregiver Support
- Senior Companion Program
- Adult Foster Care
- Protection from Abuse and Neglect
- Advocacy for Long Term Care Consumers
- Senior Training and Employment
- Health Insurance Counseling
- Transportation
Both care managers and the Senior Center staff may also provide assistance with applications to programs
such as: Pharmaceutical Assistance Contract for the Elderly (PACE), Low-Income Home Energy Assistance
Program (LIHEAP), Property Tax assistance programs, Rental Rebate, and the new Medicare D Prescription Drug
Plan.
