Louisiana SenioRx
offers
Prescription Assistance
to Seniors |
Participants of the Louisiana SenioRx program are qualified by the individual drug companies, depending
on the income and medications taken. Not all medications are covered under the program and most vitamin and
aspirin regimens are not covered. Some medications have a small fee and some are free. Most drugs are
dispensed to the doctor's office.
Seniors over 60 years of age, having no prescription drug coverage, and with a maximum income level of
$2,392.50/month for a one-person household and $3,207.50/month for a two-person household are eligible. In
addition, those eligible must have chronic illnesses, take daily medications, and must not have voluntarily
cancelled any state or federal prescription drug program or a private reimbursements plan within the last
six months.
To apply, you must complete a SenioRx application, provide proof of income and insurance and a list of
all of your medications and physicians, complete with addresses and phone numbers. Louisiana SenioRx staff
can assist you in completing the application and obtaining prescriptions from the doctors so you can receive
your medications through various programs administered by the pharmaceutical companies.
