No Time Limit On Disability Benefits

Disability benefits will continue as long as your medical condition has not improved and you cannot work. Social Security will periodically review your case to determine whether you continue to be eligible. If you are still receiving disability benefits when you reach your full retirement age, your disability benefits will automatically be converted to retirement benefits. Medicare’s State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIP)

Healthy Aging Today has produced an online video about Medicare’s State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIP). The broadcast provides information to Medicare consumers about how the state programs operate, helping people understand Medicare and the options available within their state. Every state has a SHIP, funded through an annual grant from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that oversees the Medicare program.

Tax time is around the corner and AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is there to help low to moderate income seniors!

As in past years the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, an AARP Foundation program, is offering low- to moderate-income taxpayers, especially those that are 60 years or older with assistance with tax services. The goal of this program is to ensure that low to moderate income taxpayers receive applicable tax credits and deductions. Visit the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program web page and review the services. The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) Annual Event

The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. Bird watchers of all ages can participate to help create a real-time snapshot of where birds are across the U.S. and Canada. Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts. It takes as little as 15 minutes on one day, or you can count for as long as you like each day of the event. Please visit the website for more information.
