  • Fascinating reading when you look into the details of The 90+ Study
    This article reviews The 90+ Study which is a project that interviews and research the lives of seniors who were once members of The Leisure World Cohort Study started in 1981. The goal of the research is to find what enables some people live to age 90+ and how is this older population affected by memory loss and disabilities as they age.   • And in Aurora, Colorado learn more about Alzheimer’s Disease Clinic and research program at University of Colorado School of Medicine – Anschutz Medical Center. Huntington Potter, PhD, Professor of Neurology, Director of Alzheimer’s Disease Research, University of Colorado School of Medicine and Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome are conducting research in collaboration with others, on improved diagnoses and treatment of Alzheimer’s and the long-term goal of preventing or curing Alzheimer’s disease. Join a Walk to End Alzheimer’s in your area. The funds raised in 2014 will go to support education, counseling, and our 24 hour Helpline all offered at no cost to families across the state and to fund research to find a cure.

October 3 - 5, 2014
19th Anniversary Celebration BayfFest of Alabama
Location: Mobile, Alabama

BayFest attracts more than 200,000 guests, who will enjoy the streets of Downtown Mobile and see over 125 live musical acts on nine stages during the weekend. BayFest offers continuous music for every taste, including country, classic rock, alternative, pop, jazz, R&B, rap, gospel, modern rock and more. ElderSpirit Community Autumn Retreat

Huntsman World Senior Games
Location: St George, Utah

Following the pattern of the Olympics, the Games kicks off with a grand Opening Ceremonies, which includes a Parade of Athletes, entertainment, fireworks and the traditional lighting of the Huntsman World Senior Games Cauldron. There is no charge for admission. Dress warm for cool evenings. Athletes should arrive at 6:30 pm for the Parade.

Memoirs: "Writing Meaningful Memoirs”

The 60th Annual Greater Gulf State Fair will be from October 24th through November 2nd. This year’s Fair will feature a “Celebrate the Coast” Theme. From a Live Shark Encounter with shark tanks and educational exhibits to Sea Lion Splash which is the largest traveling sea lion exhibit in North America to Live Sting Ray Encounter and Giant Sandbox Creation Station – this event has something for everyone and all ages.
