Our Mission

Life Quality Homes of Denver provides professional care services for those who are experiencing any stage of Alzheimer's disease or related dementia disorders. We are committed to exceeding our families' expectations of care by promoting independence with dignity and respect in a secured residential home.
Alzheimer's Care in a Residential Home
Medical research has shown that people with dementia often function better in a small, home-like setting. Life Quality Homes of Denver provides just this type of specialized care.
Recognition to daily activities of previous lifestyles enhances and encourages normalcy of life. Resident's are able to continue to participate in daily routines such as helping with laundry, baking, sitting down to breakfast with a cup of coffee and reviewing the daily paper, activities that they once found structure and comfort in. Resident's can find comfort by enjoying their personal belongings that decorate their room to stimulate the memory of home.
This type of home setting is also inviting and comforting for the family. Families are able to join their loved one in a comfortable setting to enjoy a birthday party, holiday feast, or a daily craft or activity. The home environment is not only recognizable to the resident but can also take family members back to "the way mom/dad used to be while at home." Life Quality Homes of Denver provides this reminiscent type of care.
Secured Assisted Living Home for Seniors with Dementia
People with Alzheimer's disease have unique needs that require specialized care. The familiar and calming environment of a home promotes a sense of comfort and safety. The stable environment has also proven to lessen verbal and behavioral outbreaks in residents that had previously experienced these types of behaviors.
Alzheimer's Care Plan
Life Quality Homes of Denver is dedicated to providing personalized care by setting down with the family and creating a detailed care plan. This plan will be a guide to staff of the likes and dislikes of the residents, previous daily routines that need to be continued, and family's wishes of the type of care that they expect. The care plan is constantly being monitored and up-dated by the care director to reflect changes that the resident is experiencing. The purpose of the care plan is to empower each resident to perform at their highest level each day and to help enjoy each moment as it passes. Implementation of the care plan has often found new likes and activities that can be used to "draw" the resident out of their isolated shell.
Resident Activities for those with Memory Loss
Unless stimulated resident's many times lose interest in previous enjoyable activities, simply because they are not stimulated or do not remember the activity. By setting down with family and discussing previous hobbies and activities we can develop an activity program that is personalized to the resident. Activities help elevate cognitive function, improve motor skills, and create cognitive learning through games, puzzles, and exercise. Creative needs are met by arts and crafts, music therapy is provided by big band music and the familiar sounds of Lawrence Welk. Families are invited to join in the activities by participating in family luncheons, crafts, and holiday entertainment.
Dementia Group Homes vs. Large Skilled Nursing Facilities
We are a state of the art home care alternative to institutionalized care for people suffering from Alzheimer's and related disorders. We offer the same amenities and services as the larger memory units but offered in a smaller setting. This small setting is a highly conducive environment for those suffering from dementia.

Dementia Health Care Providers Who Service Assisted Living Homes
Our homes offer our residents and their families the highest quality of care. The resident does not need to leave the safety of the home or the familiar surroundings.
How our Alzheimer's Assisted Living Home Worked for One Denver Family

This is the story of Georgiana. Georgiana was a lively and spirited woman that moved into one of our homes in the summer of 1999. When she moved in she met four sweet ladies and their friendship began. The ladies did everything together. They had their tea and coffee parties, did many crafts, puzzles, read the newspaper, had sing a longs and ice cream socials. You name it they were doing it. Georgiana enjoyed staying busy.
When afternoons rolled around the ladies would bake cookies because, more often than not, Georgiana's grandkids were going to be stopping by. See their school was right across the street and they would stop by on their way home. They sat around the table eating some of those fresh baked cookies and talking about their day with Grandma. Sometimes they played games. For seven years Georgiana was able to watch her grandchildren grow up. Georgiana was comfortable, safe, and able to receive care for her daily needs in a place she called home.
When it came time for Georgiana to leave this world, she was able to stay right at home with her "Life Quality Homes of Denver" family and friends by her side. It was comforting for her family not to have to move Georgiana to an unfamiliar place to transition, she was able to stay right at "home".
Later, we celebrated Georgiana's life at memorial service held in her honor. After the service we all went on over to the family's home for the reception. We enjoyed eating, talking and laughing about old times. After a wonderful meal, we took an opportunity to watch some home movies with the family. The movies took us all back to an earlier time when Georgiana was the young, vibrant, independent individual everybody always talked about. It was a good reminder of why we do what we do here at Life Quality Homes of Denver. In her own way, Georgiana was saying thank you...
Consider Life Quality Homes of Denver a place for your loved one to have a peace-filled life, just as Georgiana did.

We know that this is the toughest decision to be made and we want to help you feel comfortable in choosing the best environment for your loved one.
Why Dementia Care in a Secured Assisted Living Home vs. Non-secured Assisted Living Facility
When dealing with dementia some non- secured facilities believe that just one or two residents with memory loss are ok. They believe it's ok to just use ID bracelets or have a door alarm in case they decide to walk out. The facility doesn't think about what the staff situation might be when the dementia resident takes off through the front door. The staff person may be busy assisting another resident. Maybe they don't even notice. It's something to think about. With a secured environment there isn't anyone entering or exiting that is not aware of the environment which promotes the most safety for each resident.
Many times staff in regular assisted living facilities have basic skills for working with a resident with dementia. Sometimes even a simple problem like a resident with dementia repeating a question over and over to another resident can become annoying for the other resident without dementia. This can lead to frustration and anger that escalates between residents. Things may elevate to behavior out bursts. It's not really fair to either resident. The staff is generally not used to having to referee communication. Normal routine can go right out the window. What if the action is appropriate for someone with dementia but totally inappropriate for someone cognitive? Mixing the two environments can be a recipe for problems for the residents and overwhelming to the staff not trained to work with residents with dementia.
A regular small assisted living facility might typically manage 8 to 15 residences. With dementia 5 or 6 residents is generally more cohesive for a small secured residential home facility.
