Independent and Assisted Living
We offer care and support to our residents, while
encouraging them to be as independent as possible. Some of our residents only wish to have meals and
activities, but others need more assistance with activities of daily living such as a assistance with
medications, help with dressing or bathing, or simply the piece of mind of knowing staff is available 24
hours a day "just in case".
Once residents select their apartments, the staff is
available to provide just the right amount of care for each resident’s needs. As those needs change, so
does the level of care and services. Meanwhile, the resident lives in the same apartment. This
individualized approach to wellness helps each resident maximize their independence in familiar and
comfortable surroundings where they can age in place.
Respite Care
For the family caregiver, Atria Inn at Lakewood offers a
respite program for family vacations or rehabilitation from hospital to home. We have elegantly appointed
Respite Care Suites that include our regular assisted living services and meal program. These private
apartments are fully furnished and they each have a kitchenette and walk-in shower. The respite care program
is available for individuals or couples.
Care for Alzheimer's Disease and Other Memory
Loss
 Our
Life Guidance Program is designed especially for our residents with memory loss or confusion. The
programming and services of our Life Guidance Program are designed to meet the needs of the residents with
Alzheimer’s disease and other memory loss issues. A higher staffing ratio allows for more personal
interaction with residents. The activities are shorter in time and lead into each other for those residents
needing more structure in their day. Meals are handled more simply with fewer choices and more guidance by
staff. The courtyard is secured so that residents can walk outside freely and with piece of mind.
At Atria, we also know that Alzheimer’s disease affects the
entire family, and we recognize the importance of supporting family and friends; therefore, we offer family
support groups and a resource library on site.

Life Guidance Day Program

Residents may choose to participate in one or many of the
various activities and special outings offered daily on the calendar. Group activities such as art,
music, and pet therapy as well as intergenerational programs provide stimulating opportunities for
socialization and reminiscence. |
Start Program
| The START program is a one on one exercise program aimed at
improving flexibility, strength, endurance and balance. The START coordinator will develop
individualized programs to help reach specific fitness and lifestyle goals. Group activities such as
walking, yoga, water exercises and tai chi compliment our one on one programs. |
