About Our Bridges Program . . .

The Bridges Program at Epoch of Denver specializes in the care of those with Alzheimer‘s, dementia, and other forms of memory impairment. The secure environment offers individual studio apartments in varying sizes, a common living room and dining room, and an enclosed garden. With no more than 15 residents living in the Bridges community at any one time, the staff can focus on individual needs.

"We are proud of our staff in Bridges," says Carl Zarlengo, Executive Director. "The Program Director works closely with our Wellness Director, our Activities Director, volunteers, and families to provide a comprehensive program for our high functioning residents. Our staff’s compassion and commitment to excellence are key to our success. They are proficient in communication skills and interventions that enhance the lives of these very special residents. On-going training through continuing education is a very important component that we provide for our caring staff."

A day that is structured with group activities is a day that enhances feelings of self-confidence and self worth among our residents. Spiritual enrichment, sensory stimulation, physical fitness and memory stimulation are the objectives. They come disguised in the form of sing-a-longs, excursions into the community such as the library, Marie Callendar’s restaurant, and scenic rides. We also encourage our Bridges residents to enjoy manicures, art classes, cooking projects, armchair fitness and much, much more. Individual’s needs are addressed with adequate resident-to-staff ratios provided twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Residents’ apartments are furnished with their own belongings. Memory boxes, filled with family pictures are posted outside their doors. The common areas present a home-like atmosphere and are designed to encourage feelings of familiarity and security for all residents. Through patience and understanding, our professional caregivers respect the dignity of our Bridges residents while offering peace of mind to the people who love them. Drop in and visit our community any time and learn more about us.
