Coalition Mission Statement
The Southwest Coalition on Aging brings together organizations, agencies, service providers
and individuals whose goals are to improve the health, welfare and quality of life for older adults in the
south Metro Denver area. Members enjoy cooperative working relationships, networking and educational
opportunities. Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

Presentation Title: "It's your trip, how do you want to go?"
Subject: An enjoyable and fact filled discussion on the benefits to planning your final trip in advance. What are the biggest decisions that have to be made? What are the options? What are the costs? How do you bring up the subject with your children? Why plan a funeral? Stories of a trip gone bad and a trip gone good! The only question left unanswered will be when do we leave!
Chris has an education degree, has taught Junior High School, served ten years in the United States Army, and has been in the funeral industry for over fourteen years. She contributes her success to her early exposure of the true meaning of selfless service. She resides in Littleton with her husband, Gary and her son, Justin. Tammy Berkey has over 27 years in the funeral industry and is a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and graduate of Mortuary Studies. She's fun too!

- We need everyone to re-enroll with our Membership Coordinator. Be sure to provide us with your most
current contact information. We plan to send newsletters electronically, thus saving the high cost of
postage. Updated e-mail addresses are required.
- The meeting format for Jan, Feb, April, May, July, Aug, Oct, and Nov will be:
9:30 - 10:00 Networking and snacks
10:00 - 10:45 Business and speaker
10:45 - 11:30 Introductions and networking - Many facilities require that we leave by that time so they
can begin their lunch hour
- To join the Southwest Denver Coalition print out our Application Form
and mail it to our Membership Coordinator with your dues.
