SENIOR SAFETY PROGRAM

The Colorado Springs Fire Department's Senior Safety Program is dedicated to improving the safety of senior citizens across Colorado Springs. With over 66,449 senior citizens within the City, it is important to reach as many individuals as we can with our fire and life safety messages. Please contact Brianna Goodwin today at 385-7376 to schedule one of our many interactive and informational senior programs!

  • Fire and Life Safety Presentations: Presentations are 45 minutes and include life saving information on fire, candles, cooking, smoke alarms, 9-1-1, slips trips and falls, and much more! Presentations can be scheduled during daytime and evening hours, Monday through Friday. Please give us a call today to schedule one of our FREE safety presentations.

  • File of Life: A program designed to provide vitally important medical history, current medications, resuscitation requests and emergency contact information to First Responders. It consists of a highly-visible magnetic folder designed for placement on a refrigerator and comes with a mini-version for a wallet, car, suitcase or other easily accessible location. Cards can be picked up at the Fire Department Complex, 375 Printers Parkway, or by calling, 719-385-7376. Available to Colorado Springs citizens only.

  • Safety Bingo: This interactive and fun game is played just like the original BINGO but with a safety twist! Learn fire and life safety tips while having fun and winning prizes. Great for large groups!

  • Safety Prize Wheel: This game of chance not only guarantees to have a winner every time but also makes learning fast and fun. Include the safety wheel at fairs, meetings, busy lobbies or any other big event where seniors want to have fun and win!

  • Fire and Evacuation Drill Observation, Emergency Planning, and Guidebooks for Senior Facilities: The Community Education Section of the Colorado Springs Fire Department is available to assist you and your facility in building a complete Emergency Operations Plan. If you have any questions or need any additional assistance such as a facility walk-through, emergency plan review, or observation of your evacuation drill, please call 719-385-7376 at your earliest convenience. Each of these services is available to you and your facility at no cost.
