With a Death Café, the idea is to get people from all backgrounds together over tea, coffee and delicious cake, to simply talk about death, a normal aspect of life that is generally feared by our culture. The hope of the Death Café movement is to simply normalize this phase of life by allowing groups of people to talk about death. A Death Café is not a support group or a means of selling services, but is instead a simple social gathering. There have been Death Cafés all over Colorado and the US. Learn More

The Great Backyard Bird Count

The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are. It’s free, fun, and easy—and it helps the birds! Everyone is welcome from beginning bird watchers to experts. It takes as little as 15 minutes on one day, or you can count for as long as you like each day of the event. Participants tally the number of individual birds of each species they see during their count period. Then enter these numbers on the GBBC website in their GBBC account. Scientists use this information, combined with the info gathered from other sources, to understand what is happening in bird populations. Learn More
