As the population ages, many more working families will have the responsibility for their aging relatives. Often the duty falls to one person and that individual finds they are overloaded and unable to maintain their own physical and mental well-being.
Our program is designed for that person.

Silver Oak Adult Day Care in Graysville provides a loving and enriching day program alternative for family caregivers. We offer daily and weekly programs and provide a loving, enriching and healthy place for seniors that need daily supervision and life enrichment activities.
From healthy snacks and meals to daily exercise programs, art projects, games and Memory Lane products specifically designed for people with memory loss, we provide a place for seniors to go where they will have an enriching day of activities. Even more valuable than the enjoyable day the participant receives, is the need we serve to the family caregiver who is now able to take care of their needs.

What we do at Silver Oak Adult Day Care
Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for the participant and caregiver. Our participants will enjoy a wide variety of therapeutic activities that are carefully structured in a homelike environment. From art to exercise to board games to memory function activities, each participant receives lots of love and attention from our licensed personnel who are experienced in providing tender care.

Exercise and Movement
At Silver Oak we emphasis exercise and getting moving! We have specific training in exercises that are good for seniors. The exercise movements focus on muscular strength, endurance and range of motion. All of these movement skills help improve activities of daily living and can contribute to a better sense of well-being.

To accommodate our seniors many of our exercise programs are done while sitting. Overall regular exercise helps slow down age related physical degeneration and contributes to improved cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, speed, power, agility, balance and coordination. We also provide regular blood pressure checks as part of our program.

Respite Care
Silver Oak Day Care is also available to provide Respite Care for primary caregivers. As space is available we can help with the occasional need for short-term care when the family caregiver has a doctor's appointment or needs a day for activities with friends or family.

Day Care for the Adult Child
We also provide care for the adult child who may be physically or mentally challenged. We have found that multi-generational day care participants add a richness and diversity to our program where all attendees benefit. The same programs that work for our seniors such as exercise, art, crafts and board games are also good for our younger day care participants.
