Access to Benefits
The Access to Benefits Coalition helps men and women over 60 years of age find ways to lower their prescription costs through a variety of drug savings programs. The Coalition, which is working in conjunction with the Governor's Office of Elderly Affairs, the Louisiana Senior Rx Program, and the U.S. Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services, can be reached at 504-827-7843 or 1-888-922-8522, or individuals can get information online at:

The National Council of Aging created this website to help older adults to quickly identify Federal and state programs that may improve the quality of their lives. Louisiana SenioRx
LouisianaSenioRx.org is a program that connects qualified, low-income people with discount prescription drugs, direct from the pharmaceutical manufacturer. The program was created in 2003 by the Louisiana Legislature to provide resources to help senior citizens access and apply for manufacturer's discount cards and pharmaceutical assistance programs. The program is administered by the Governor's Office of Elderly Affairs.

Sign up for the New Medicare Prescription Drug Plan today!
You can join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan in the following ways:
By paper application:
Contact the company offering the drug plan you choose and ask for an application. Once you fill out the form, mail or fax it back to the company.
On the plan's website:
Visit the drug plan company's website. You may be able to join online.
On the www.medicare.gov website:
You will also be able to join a drug plan at the Medicare website by using Medicare's online enrollment center.
By Phone:
You can join a drug plan by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) and talking to a Medicare customer service representative. TTY users should call 1-877-486-2048.
