Allegheny Access to Benefits Coalition - ABC
This local non-profit coalition can help many seniors and younger people with disabilities find ways to
reduce the costs of their medicines. Help is available online or in person. It is free, fast and

Golden Age Retrievers (GAR) Program

Golden Age Retriever Program places senior shelter animals with mature and caring individuals. These are
older cats and dogs that are in need of quiet and calm homes. Through this program Animal Friends offers
adopters over the age of 55 a number of perks including an adoption starter kit, reduced adoption fee and
ongoing support to turn the adoption into a lifelong relationship. Call for more information.
In-home Senior Services from Jefferson Regional Medical Center
Call for information on in-home services, assistance, geriatric assessments, financial assistance, program
eligibility, prescription assistance, health insurance questions, estate management and other complex senior
issues. Referral, follow-up and advocacy are free of charge and offered to needy seniors in 33 communities
in the Jefferson Regional Medical Center service area. Call 412-469-7099.
Jewish Community Center
This is one of the designated Senior Centers of Allegheny County. They offer Kosher congregate meals Monday
thru Friday and a breakfast club. The center also offers Tai Chi, senior Aerobics, day trips, theater
outings, bridge classes, computer classes and many other socialization and recreational opportunities. Call

MercyLink Referral Network
MercyLink - Pittsburgh Mercy Health System's physician and service referral network is your regional
resource for timely information on health topics. Our registered nurses provide you with personal assistance

Monroeville Mall Walkers
Forbes regional Hospital and Monroeville Mall have teamed up to offer an exercise program to give residents
of Monroeville and surrounding communities a way to stay fit year-round. Mall walkers is a program for
health conscious people who like to exercise in a controlled environment. The program is free. For more

Senior Information & Referral Service (SIRS)
Seniors Information & Referral Service (SIRS) is a free service designed to provide seniors and their
caregivers with information related to care, finances, and psychosocial or legal needs. There are many
programs that benefit seniors but you need to know where to find them - this program will help connect you

Senior Information Station at Monroeville Mall
Eastern Area Adult Services maintains a freestanding kiosk at the Monroeville Mall. The kiosk is staffed
with senior professional information specialists. Call 412-247-1446 for more information.
Senior Services at Jefferson Regional Medical Center
The center coordinates month 55 Alive Drive education classes with AARP. Classes are held on various days
and times including some Saturdays. Participants age 55+ may be eligible for car insurance discounts from

St. Margaret Foundation Programs and Services for Seniors
815 Freeport Road, Pittsburgh
St. Margaret Foundation offers services to seniors and caregivers living in neighborhoods surrounding St.
Margaret Hospital. Find out more about "Classic Connections" which is a free information and

Veteran Affairs Assisted Living Program
Spouses of veterans may also be eligible for Aid and Attendance if the veteran is rated 30% or more
disabled. Eligible individuals include the veteran or spouse who meets one or more of the following factors:
blind or nearly blind, is a patient in nursing home due to mental or physical incapacity, has a prostheses
that needs frequent adjustment, is incapable of feeding self due to the loss of upper extremity coordination
or strength, is incontinent, and/or is mentally or physically unable to protect self from hazards. Call the
