Emergency Preparedness:

We all try to lessen the impact of those emergencies that may arise in our lives. We pay car insurance in case we have an accident, but hope we never need it. We pay homeowners insurance to protect us from the possibility of a fire, theft, or other damage to our homes, and hope we never need it. We buy Life insurance to protect us against the possibility of premature death and it's financial impacts on our loved ones, and hope we never need it. Many of us even have food stored to hedge against the possibility of famine, natural disasters, personal tragedies, etc. and hope we never need it.

But, when it comes to the ONE "emergency" that we all face, we are loath to prepare for it, or even to talk about it.... That one emergency is that inevitable day when we will pass from this life, leaving our loved ones behind, to sort it out for themselves.

Wouldn't it be better to prepare for that emergency also? Why plan ahead? Here are 3 important reasons:

Peace of Mind
Many who have undergone the trauma and emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan and prepay their own final arrangements. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of overwhelming grief and intense emotional stress.

Personal Choice
Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice. Pre-planning provides you with the time needed to make practical, detailed decisions that reflect your standards, lifestyle, taste and budget. It allows decisions to be made together, not alone. You can make these arrangements with the assurance that your wishes and the choices you make will be carried out as planned.

Lower Costs
When you finalize your plan, you will be advised of the total cost, and various payment arrangements. You do not have to set aside funds for your plan, but doing so protects you against escalating funeral costs. By locking in today's funeral costs and ensuring that the necessary funds are set aside, you help relieve yourself of unnecessary future worry and your survivors of an unexpected expense. You will have many more options available to you if you do your preplanning while you are in good health, and before you are on a fixed income, but......

It is never too early, but one day it will be too late, to plan. Do it now !
