If you have been wondering what's going on at the beautiful new building on South Barfield between the Marco Island Florist and Wesley United Methodist Church, we have the details. The name of the facility is Sanitasole at Barfield, pronounced (San-ita-so-lay) and it is loosely translated from Italian to mean "healthy living under the sun". The concept is simple. We have been fortunate as a society to be given an extra twenty years of life during our generation. As we age, the demands on us change. It sometimes becomes impossible to keep up with necessities and responsibilities of owning and maintaining a home during a time of increasing healthcare challenges. Many of us have promised our parents that we would never put them into a nursing home or retirement facility, determined to care for them ourselves. To help us to meet that promise, Paula Camposano-Robinson, RN, with her husband Richard Robinson, a former hospital CEO and healthcare consultant, have created Sanitasole at Barfield. Sanitasole's new Club Sanita is the area's first luxury Adult Day Health Service program. The facility and its many services are designed to enhance body, mind and spirit and support the client's desire to remain independent and in their own home.
According to Paula, "Ones true sense of self worth should focus on who we are as a person and ones long-term contributions to the community. When older adults are not engaged in their communities, they have lower feelings of self esteem and control, less life satisfaction and generally, a poorer overall quality of life. Sanitasole is committed to providing the support older adults need to sustain and maintain their independence at home, both for the caregiver and their loved ones.
Sanitasole, located in a beautiful 13,000 square foot Tuscany inspired building on South Barfield Drive will open in August with Club Sanita and will rapidly be expanding its scope of services into: Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation, Home Healthcare, Healthcare Equipment/Supplies and Services and a broad range of Home Services such as lawn, pool maintenance, housecleaning and more.
Sanitasole at Barfield is not just a building, it is the long time vision and mission of Paula and Richard Robinson. They did extensive research and took all of the best examples of what they learned about aging and the delivery of services to older adults, and with their basic belief in optimizing ones health by recognizing and respecting the individual's pride and dignity, they have brought a series of structured, yet flexible programs and activities under one roof.
Sanitasole has warm earth tones, finishes and furniture, as well as a wide range of therapy equipment and meeting rooms for activities such as art appreciation, music, gardening and much more. With careful attention to every detail, Sanitasole is designed to encourage a sense of warmth, comfort, well-being and empowerment that clients and their caregivers can enjoy on a daily basis.
We believe that no matter what your current state of health, it can be improved with an optimal diet, exercise or rehabilitation program and engaging mental stimulation and social interaction.
