Painful feet can affect our ability to enjoy the most basic activities in our daily lives. Thankfully, many foot conditions can be easily prevented or treated by wearing properly fitting footwear, and caring for your feet regularly.
Regular care would include, but not be limited to thorough cleaning, properly cut nails, light massage, and light exercise. Your feet need a good cleaning regularly not only for general hygiene purposes, but also to reduce chances that your nails become the home of the opportunistic nail funguses out there. These funguses are often the cause of discolored and thickened nails.
Your nails need to be properly, and regularly, trimmed. This can often be a difficult task, sometimes because of thickened nails. If this is the case, it is important that you find someone to perform these services for you.
A light massage is a good way to perform a regular assessment and promote good circulation of your feet. Get to know your feet.
Walking is the best exercise for your feet. It also contributes to your general health by improving circulation, contributing to weight control, and promoting all-around well being.
If you find it hard and/or unpleasant to perform any of the above activities, it would be in your best interest to seek out good foot care service. Companies such as High Country Foot Care offer these services in the comforts of your own home. If this sounds like it could work for you, I invite you to give us a call!
I would like to end with the comment that if you have foot pain that persists; we always recommend that you see your doctor.
