Mississippi Senior Citizens: Did you know that in addition to your medical checkups, you need regular legal checkups?

Legal checkups insure that:

  • You have all of the legal documents that you need (a Will and/or a Trust, Powers of Attorney for finances and healthcare, Transfer on Death provisions, etc.) and that the documents are in good order
  • You have anticipated the future to the extent possible to protect both your assets and your person (financial and healthcare Powers of Attorney)
  • You have the proper beneficiaries designated --make sure that your beneficiaries have not predeceased you or have had some other circumstance occur that would make them less desirable
  • The most desirable ownership format is in place for your assets (joint tenancy, individual ownership with a transfer on death provision, trading authority or financial Power of Attorney)
  • You have an overall estate planning strategy and that your documents are in compliance with the current laws
