NCRH is an Acute Rehabilitation HospitalNCRH is owned by Ernest Health, Inc. which is based in Albuquerque, NM., and is the third hospital Ernest Health has built. NCRH is an Acute Rehabilitation Hospital; which means that patients who suffer from events such as a stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or an amputation will receive care from an interdisciplinary team of therapists, nurses and a physician who is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Typically patients will spend time in the hospital after suffering from an injury before being transferred to NCRH. However, if a patient's physician feels it is appropriate, patients can also be admitted directly from their homes. The ultimate goal of inpatient rehabilitation and the therapy provided is to return patients to their highest level of independence. Many times this means returning back home. The average length of stay at our hospital will be 2-3 weeks, but will vary based on each patients' individual treatment plan and needs. Among our professional staff are physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and respiratory therapists; who are trained to deliver specialized care according to each person's needs. We will have Registered Nurses specially trained in rehabilitation available 24 hours each day, as well as Patient Care Technicians who will assist patients with their everyday needs and monitor their progress. Registered Dieticians are also part of our team to provide our patients with the appropriate nutrition for their course of therapy. Our Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Jacob, has many years of experience in the inpatient rehabilitation setting and is excited about developing relationships with local physicians. Dr. Jacob will be located within NCRH and will typically follow our patients during their admission, while working very closely with the primary care physician. Because Ernest Health, Inc. believes rehabilitation means more than just physical, we will also have an office onsite for Greg Thwaites, PhD. Dr. Thwaites is a licensed Neuropsychologist, and will be available on a consult basis as required. NCRH is a state-of-the-art 48,000 sq. ft. facility with 40 patient rooms, all of them private. We have an onsite pharmacy with employed Registered Pharmacists available at all times. Our therapy gym is approximately 6000 sq. ft. including our indoor/enclosed pool. Our gym contains many pieces of equipment specifically geared towards rehabilitation. In addition, we have an outdoor therapy courtyard which may be utilized, weather permitting. Another key feature of our facility is our Activities of Daily Living (ADL) suite. This suite contains a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, oven, washer-dryer, and a bathroom. These pieces of equipment will be used by our patients to ensure that when they return to their homes they can return to their highest level of independence. At Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital our goal is to work hard to help you set and achieve your goals. If you or your loved ones are in need of physical and/or neurological rehab, and would like to receive it in a warm, friendly environment, NCRH is definitely worth a look. NCRH is located at: 4401 Union St., Loveland, CO. 80537 (we are one mile east of I-25 on Highway 34). For tours of our facility please call Vickie Becker at 970-619-3600 to schedule. |
