St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center has been caring for the families of southern Colorado for over 120 years. St. Mary-Corwin is regionally located in beautiful Pueblo and takes great pride in their comprehensive services, their focus on faith and mission, and their responsiveness to community needs.
As the aging population increases, so does the need for quality community healthcare. With the many insurance changes in the healthcare industry, education among our community is needed as well.
The GOODMedicine program at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center has several resources available to fulfill the need of quality healthcare and education in our area. Through the GOODMedicine Program, St. Mary-Corwin is able to outreach to communities with the aide of the GOODMedicine Van and offer services to seniors and other southern Colorado residents. The GOODMedicine Program is committed to providing quality care and resources through community outreach. This program is an effort to offer the community another support system they need to stay healthy. The program offers free and discounted screenings to the community while creating awareness and education on a variety of health topics. The GOODMedicine nurses offer blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol checks, plus free health information and more at each screening.
Through the community outreach screenings, individuals are given the opportunity to take an active role in their own health by monitoring their health progress on a regular basis. The GOODMedicine Program offers screenings in the community weekly and sponsors special screenings and events monthly. Some of the special screenings that the GOODMedicine Program continues to sponsor are free skin cancer screenings, diabetes screenings, stroke screenings and depression screenings. Other events include sleep apnea workshops, lupus symposiums, breast cancer awareness programs and community awareness health fairs. All screenings offered are free or low cost so everyone can take advantage of the services.
The GOODMedicine Program also works with other organizations and businesses to help improve the lives of our residents and create a community awareness and support system. To learn more about partnership opportunities, please contact the GOODMedicine Nurse at 719-560-4433.
Another tool available to the southern Colorado community, through the GOODMedicine Program, is the Health Advisor Line, which provides a list of GOODMedicine events and allows you to speak with a staff of nurses that can aide in physician referrals, help you register for classes offered at St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center, and provide answers to your health questions, 24 hours a day. To reach the Health Advisor Line, call 560-INFO (4636) or 1-800-327-6877. St. Mary-Corwin, since 1880.
