As the senior industry grows, new concepts are being created which offer our aging population options previously unavailable. For example, the Cottages at Forest Park in Lafayette provides seniors with the chance to own rather than rent their living accommodations, thus the Cottages at Forest Park will allow families to preserve their wealth in real estate while allowing them to enjoy a carefree retirement.

Located on five acres of land in Lafayette, the new project will complete a 50 acre development known as Forest Park Village. The entire project already features retail and additional residential developments. In addition there is a 2,600 square foot community center located in the middle of the development which will feature a caretaker post, gathering areas, a large dining room and an exercise room.

While Forest Park is not looking to get into the caregiver business, a caretaker will be available to help residents obtain their individualized services from outside professionals, thus each resident will be in a position to bring the care they choose into their own home. Longmont resident Bob Grubbs observed that the new development is appealing for senior home buyers, such as his in-laws, who are considering a move from Florida to be closer to their children. He continued "what's unique about the Cottages at Forest Park is that you're getting a small senior community with so many nearby amenities."

The philosophy behind this new concept fits in with the entrepreneurial vision of this generation. At Forest Park you buy your unit, pay for services you need, and then you have something to pass on to your family.
