Senior Services Network, Inc. (SSN) was formed over 20 years ago in the Nashville area. The original mission was that the Senior Services Network would be a forum whereby individuals work, collaborate and exchange information and ideas in addressing the needs of elderly population of Metro Nashville and surrounding areas.

The organization started with 10 members and early growth of the organization was by word of mouth. The original 10 members has now grown to more than 150members. SSN began with the principle that when spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion. Today, SSN meet monthly to stay abreast of the many changes in benefits and resources available to seniors. Along with education, the group has taken the role of advocate for change for senior issues.

Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month. The focus of the meeting is education but also to provide valuable networking time for professionals to learn more about other services and how to better collectively serve seniors. Members may bring literature about their services and introduce their organization. SSN maintains the website www.SeniorServicesNetwork.org and prints a monthly newsletter with minutes and announcements from the monthly meetings.

The membership of SSN is comprised of an expansive list of professionals that serve seniors and their adult caregivers through the cycle of aging. The services that focus around healthcare for seniors include those who work at hospitals, doctors' offices, and rehabilitation centers. Many members focus on providing health services in the home, such as: home health agencies, companion care, medical equipment, pharmaceutical services and oxygen services. Senior housing communities also comprise a large portion of the membership and include retirement communities, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. The membership also includes end of life services such as hospice, funeral and cremation services, and grief support. Members who provide services of asset preservation, financial services, elder law and legal assistance are also included along with those that focus on legislation on Medicare and Medicare reform, government benefits and supporting our veterans. Encourage your healthcare and other professionals to join SSN in hopes all seniors may benefit from their knowledge and experience.
