SRES, Senior Real Estate Specialist is a designation that identifies those realtors that have completed education in meeting the unique concerns and special needs of maturing clients. They are members of the National Association of Realtors and the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council (SAREC).
These realtors help seniors make wise decisions about selling the family home, buying rental property, managing the capital gains and estate tax implications of owning real estate, obtaining a reverse mortgage, and moving to a senior community if desired. By earning the SRES designation, realtors demonstrate they have the requisite knowledge, experience and expertise to be a SRES.
