If you are over the age of 60, disabled or a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, you may be eligible for a variety of services. Many of the programs are provided by the Morris County Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans; State and County Agencies; and through private Foundations and Charities. The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Older Americans Act and the State of New Jersey are responsible for much of the funding for these programs.

A directory of services has been compiled by the Morris County Department of Human Services, Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans to help you obtain the services you might need. The following brochures are also available by the Morris County Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans:

  • Housing Options
  • Transportation
  • Morris County Nutrition Project
  • Health and Wellness for Morris County Residents
  • RSP (Really Smart Patient)
  • Health Profile
  • "I Have Put My House in Order"

The hours of operation for the Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. In addition to the programs and services described in the services directory, the Morris County Division on Aging, Disabilities and Veterans provides lectures, seminars, trainings and special events. Please call us for additional assistance.

Learn More About Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) in New Jersey
Each state has a State Unit on Aging (SUA) that oversees services and benefits to state residents delivered through local Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs). Services delivered through AAAs can include information, resources and services for at home meals, homemaker assistance and other services to make independent living at home a viable option. SUAs and AAAs were established under the Older Americans Act (OAA) in 1973 to respond to the needs of Americans aged 60 and over in local communities.
