Colorado Credit File Freeze
Beginning July 1, 2006, Coloradoans can put a security freeze on their credit reports. A freeze means your file cannot be shared with potential creditors. This can help prevent identity theft. Fraud Alert on Door-to-Door Con Artists!
The Office of the Denver District Attorney is warning elderly that door-to-door con artists hit Denver in the summer. They prey on elderly homeowners with door-to-door scams. The Denver DA wants all people to remember, "There is absolutely no reason to let strangers in your home." Keep all doors, including the garage door, closed and locked at all times, especially when you are outside working in the yard. Make the Medicare Connection Together
Beginning January 1, 2006 Medicare prescription drug coverage will be available to all people with Medicare. Medicare is encouraging seniors, family and friends to reach find out more and sing up. You can get this new coverage by joining a Medicare prescription drug plan. Enrollment starts in November 2005. The store is run and staffed entirely by volunteers and the proceeds are used for the benefit of The Children's Hospital. The consignment shop accepts silver, crystal, china, art, jewelry, fine linens, small rugs and high quality furniture for consignment or donation. With La Cache's consignment agreement the seller gets 65% of the selling price when an article is sold. A consignment contract is in effect for 6-months with a 20% markdown after 2 months. Sunrise Fitness Walks
Visitors enjoy a Sunrise Fitness Walk at the Denver Botanical Gardens from 7:30 - 9 a.m. every Tuesday from June through August.
