Elderhostel
Elderhostel is a not-for-profit organization that provides exceptional learning adventures to older adults. They offer over 10,000 programs a year in more than 100 countries. The philosophy is that learning is a lifelong pursuit that opens minds and enriches lives.

Free Women's Community Educational Courses

Homewood Senior Center
Homewood Senior Center is an active senior center where your imagination is the limit! There are trips, exercise, daily lunch for $1, bridge, free piano lessons, SmartMoves, computer lab, billiards, ping-pong, fellowship and support. Ballroom Dance lessons and dances also scheduled! Also offering transportation for seniors who cannot drive to the doctor, hospital, pharmacy, grocery store or physical therapy. They are located at 816 Oak Grove Rd., Homewood, AL. McRaes Senior Shopper Day
McRaes department store at Riverchase Gallerie offers Senior Shopper Days. The fun filled day is filled with special discounts for seniors including special monthly discounts, door prizes, health screenings, special products, food samples and more. Reassurance Program from Senior Talk Line
Senior Talk Line offers a telephone reassurance program. This is a free service for senior citizens. Our trained volunteers make a friendly phone call to clients at least three times a week and we encourage our "phone friends" to talk about anything that interests them. The Yellow Cab Company of Birmingham, Alabama has handicapped accessible vans available to help anyone who needs this type of transport.
